Richard, our Senior Minister was ordained in 1978. He is a third generation preacher in the Christian Churches. His father George, was in the ministry for 50 years and his material grandfather, Spencer Holland, was also in the ministry for 50 years. All three are graduates from Johnson Bible College near Knoxville, TN. Richard also has a BA from Averett College in Danville, Va, where he met his wife, Kay. He also has a Masters of Ministry from Kentucky Christian University and has done Masters of Divinity work from Union University in Jackson, TN.
Richard has two sons, Bryce and Drew. Bryce & his wife Britney live in the area and are active in the church. Drew lives in SC with wife Amy and daughter Mia and they are active in the Branchville Christian Church. You can email Richard at RVarten@aol.com

A graduate of The UGA School of Music with a degree in Choral Music Education, Barry Smith has devoted his musical career to "music that was written to glorify God." He not only plans our music each Worship Service but also does seasonal and holiday specials. He has developed our Praise Band and singers, works with our small groups and has led our Celebrate Recovery program. Barry and Kristin have three children Shawn, Brady and Colin.

T.J. attended Milligan College in Johnson City, TN. He has served as Youth Minister in two other Christian Churches before coming to FCCM. His wife Ruthann also helps with our youth and is one of our Praise Team singers.
They have two children, Trevor and Lauren.

Janelle Arnold is our church secretary and much more. She has served FCCM for decades. Much of her extended family are also members. It might be hard to figure which kids are her own family and which are her "church," kids, they all get a lot of love and attention. Janelle is our church "Mom," and the adults love her as much as the kids. Drop by the office and you will know why.

Tina Daniell is our assistant secretary. You can find her all over the church and with every age group. From babies to elementary age up through our teenagers to our senior adults, she is active,excited and involved.
