The Father is one person of the eternal Trinity described for us in the Bible. The Father is in every respect the full essence of Yahweh (Jehovah), as are the Son and the Spirit.

The Bible states that God the Father is the one initiates, the one whose will is done and the one who planned before creation to save people through His Son, Jesus (Ephesians 3:3-10 & Luke 22:42). The Father is seated on the throne in heaven (Daniel 7:9-10, Hebrews 8:1 & Revelation 4:1-11) and is the one who has determined and knows when He will bring history to a close (Matthew 24:36)

Though the Father is spirit (John 4:24), we can know who He is and what He is like through knowing Jesus (John 1:18 & John 14:7)
